Liberals nominate Emmanuella Lambropoulos as the new
    Team Trudeau candidate for Saint-Laurent

8 March, 2017, Montreal, Quebec – Emmanuella Lambropoulos, a local educator and community leader, has been nominated as the official Team Trudeau candidate for Saint-Laurent in its upcoming federal by-election, after a vote on Wednesday by over 1,300 local Liberals in Montreal.

“It is with pride & pleasure on International Women’s Day that the Liberal Party of Canada welcomes Emmanuella Lambropoulos to Team Trudeau,” said Anna Gainey, President of the Liberal Party of Canada. “Emmanuella Lambropoulos will be a champion for middle class families and a strong voice for the constituents of Saint-Laurent in Ottawa.”

Emmanuella was born and raised in Saint-Laurent and is a French and history teacher at Rosemount High School. She earned a Bachelors of Education from McGill University in Montreal in 2013, and is also currently completing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at McGill.

Emmanuella Lambropoulos joins four other outstanding community leaders who local Liberals have already nominated as by-election candidates: Mona Fortier for Ottawa—Vanier, Haley Brown for Calgary Midnapore, and Dr. Scott Forsyth for Calgary Heritage and Mary Ng for Markham–Thornhill.

The Liberal Party of Canada is the only federal political party that is open for Canadians to join and get involved at no cost, with over 60,000 Canadians registering as new Liberals since last summer alone. All five upcoming by-elections will be held on Monday, April 3rd, 2017.
