Honourable Andrew Scheer, the Leader of the Official Opposition, on airstrikes in Syria
April 14, 2018, Ottawa, Ontario – The Leader of the Official Opposition, the Honourable Andrew Scheer, expressed his horror on the American, British and French airstrikes against the regime of Bashar al-Assad.
“The chemical attacks in Syria are nothing short of horrific.
“The brutal civil war in Syria has caused mass suffering on an unimaginable scale.The global community cannot stand idly by while a tyrant uses chemical weapons to kill and maim innocent civilians.
“The Official Opposition wholeheartedly supports the United States, the United Kingdom, and France in their efforts to hold Assad responsible for his crimes, and to otherwise limit his chemical weapons capabilities,” said Honourable Scheer.
