    A Tribute To Leonard Cohen and Friends by the Great Canadian Musicians and Artists

    Hosted by The Little Angels Society, R.O.C.S.

              Montreal, December 19, 2015 – Leonard Cohen’s friends and admirers well participated the celebration as well as various artists from Canada at Ecole Vincent D’indy, music hall in Outremont. Sarah Sokal was the Little Angels Princess and spokesperson 2015. Aine Ann McEntee, an Irish dancer, is the Little Angels spokesperson 2016. The 15th Annual Angel’s Montreal Music Concert was celebrated in the spirit of a fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital (Hughie Wilson & David Azrieli), Cancer, St. Mary’s Palliative Care (Harry Pinker) & the Actor’s Fund of Canada Honouring Walter Massey. This was Little Angles’ 24th year of honouring the great sport heros like Larry Walker #33, Expos and the Greats.

              The Great Simon Rakoff, comedian from Toronto, was the Master of the Ceremonies for the evening. The Secret Angels at SPVM Post #33, Montreal Police Department received some new warm children’s Clothing and toys including a happy five foot yellow Holmer Simpson doll with his yellow daughter Lisa.

              Special guest of the evening was Samaki Éric Soumpholphakdy, Chief of Police Post #33 in Parc-Extension, Montreal represented by Sargeant Mr. Yanik Benoit.
    First part of the show was named, ‘Christmas in Ireland’ – A Tribute to Leonard Cohen. The performers were Normand Deveault (vocalist), Lorraine on Violin, Aine Ann McEntee (Dancer) and Kevin Gillan.

              The second part of the show was a concert by Great Canadian Musicians and Artists paying tribute to Leonard Cohen. Mars Trinity, an amazing vocalist and a guitarist, played ‘There ain’t no cure for love’ in a new rock’n roll style.

              Sharman Yarnell Massey, the guest speaker, spoke on behalf of The Actors Funds. Kevin Gillian sang ‘A Taste of Ireland’. Larry Cohen performed the song, ‘a thousand kisses deep’, ‘Gypsy wife’ and ‘circus world’, as his fingers moved on the piano keys so skillfully. Francois Boucher accompanied him on violin.

              Poems were read by Rozie Barnes, Sherry Clodman and Dr. Monika Spolia.

              Becky and Machu, a duet on guitar and vocals, sang ‘lover lover lover’. Aine Ann McEntee performed the Irish Dance. Joannie Olivier of the Fire Crackers, Poi and Fan Dancer performed delightfully.

              Sarah Sokal sang ‘autumn’ and ‘like a bird on wire’ in her enthralling voice accompanied by Mars Trinity on guitar.  Raphael Rosenwald, on guitar, sang ‘Tower of Babylon’ and ‘Chelsea Hotel’ as Michael Rien accompanied on piano. Becky and Machu, guitar and vocal duo, also sang ‘Dance me to the end of love’ accompanied by Larry Cohen on Piano and Francois Boucher on violin.

              Dr. Sharon Azrieli Perez Soprano performed ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Show Tunes Medley’.

              Many certificates and awards were handed out by April Collins, the National Director of The Little Angels Society Charity Services, R.O.C.

              A wonderful musical evening was enjoyed by all.

            Thanks to the Greeters, Angels – Nikolay Kitsul, David Wilson, Josephina. Also thanks to the Friends with Carlton Howard on Guitar, Gabriel Vasiliu, violinist, escort to the chair and stage. Much thanks to J.P. Chantelle, Emerson, and Kevin, for their support and inspiration. Thanks to Rozie Barnes for the gift of her unique guitar…especially for The Angels…..Awesome! Thanks to Bracha for her presentation on all natural health products. Thanks to ALL of the Angel Crew. We love you.
