Obhrai calls on the government to increase tourism budget to attract visitors coming to North America
“We welcome you as visitors: If not the USA, then Canada!”
March 13, 2017, Ottawa, ON – Today, Conservative Party of Canada Leadership Candidate Hon. Deepak Obhrai, PC called on the federal Liberal government to increase its tourism budget in order to attract tourists visiting the North American continent.
Mr. Obhrai stated that “in light of the uncertainties at the US borders, we should reach out to those who wish to visit North America and promote our beautiful country. Canada has a lot to offer, including our world-renowned Canadian hospitality. This will not only increase our economic benefits, but it will also promote jobs growth. If the USA cannot be your destination, Canada can!”
As 2017 marks the sesquicentennial of Canada’s confederation, it is more imperative than ever to increase our touristic visibility on the global stage.
