    Appointment of Yves Paris as director
    of the Montreal Biodome

    April 19, 2018, Montreal – Christine Gosselin, member of the executive committee responsible for culture, heritage and design, announces the appointment of Yves Paris as director of the Montréal Biodôme. He will hold this position effective April 23, 2018.

    “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Yves Paris as Director of the Biodôme. He is highly qualified for this position. He has advanced scientific expertise and extensive knowledge of the Biodôme, where he has been working for 26 years. It should be noted that Mr. Paris had been acting since November 2017 as Acting Director of this institution. He will be closely involved in future stages of the Biodôme’s Migration project, including the management of living collections and the planning of museological and educational approaches that are expected at the reopening of the facilities. I am confident that he will make a very positive contribution to Space for Life’s mission, “said Ms. Gosselin.

A pioneer in the field of environmental education in Quebec, he has invested in promoting it in the various functions he has held at the Biodôme since it opened. He has extensive experience in personnel management, education and scientific programming.

    In his previous role, as Division Manager, Programming and Education, he coordinated a number of major programs. As Acting Director of the Biodome, he has been heavily involved in the Migration project and he is well versed in the various issues of this project.

    Reporting to the Director of Espace pour la Vie, the director of the Biodôme, Mr. Paris, will manage the activities of a team composed of a hundred people, under the direction of the Biodôme.
