Andrew Scheer on the escalating
situation in North Korea
SEPTEMBER 3, 2017, Ottawa, ON – Andrew Scheer, Leader of the Official Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, expressed his views on the escalating situation in North Korea.
“I condemn the North Korean regime’s latest nuclear test and have great concerns over this escalating situation. Canada’s Conservatives stand ready to work with the government on safeguarding the security of Canada and our allies.[sam_ad id=”21″ codes=”true”]
“I also firmly believe that Canada must express its willingness to discuss all diplomatic and security considerations with the United States, and allies like Japan and South Korea, in light of the escalating threat environment caused by the North Korean nuclear program and belligerent rhetoric.
“I have been in touch with my Shadow Ministers for Foreign Affairs and National Defence and the Conservative caucus will be discussing the North Korean situation and wider global security issues at our caucus meetings in Manitoba this week. We also plan to ensure that these issues are raised when Parliament resumes later this month.”[sam_ad id=”20″ codes=”true”]
