Montreal, April 17, 2015 – A grand party at a famous Banquet Hall was given to about 600 volunteers by the Borough of Villeray St. Michel. Mrs. Mary Deros the Deputy Mayor of Montreal and Ms. Anie Samson the Borough Mayor went to every table and had pictures with the volunteers. An umbrella was given as a souvenir to everyone.
Six volunteers from the South Asian Community – three from Pakistan and two from Sri Lanka – were also recognized. The 6th one was Prof. Bhandari, the only Indian Sikh in the Party who was recognized. The speakers also recognized him by addressing the gathering with Satya Sri Akal.
Mr. Nizam Uddin was recognized as a Volunteer of the Year and was presented a special souvenir. It is a big achievement.
The European teen age girls made the party colourful and full of excitement when they danced to the Bollywood songs. The function ended with social dance.
