Prime Minister of Canada on the 103rd Grey Cup
November 29, 2015, Paris, France – The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, congratulated the Edmonton Eskimos on winning the 103rd Grey Cup.
“On behalf of all Canadians, I congratulate the Edmonton Eskimos on winning the 103rd Grey Cup over the Ottawa REDBLACKS at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg, Manitoba,” said PM Trudeau.
“Both teams should be very proud of their remarkable seasons – they have taken their fans on a wild ride over the past six months.
“The Grey Cup continues to be one of Canada’s most popular sporting events, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans from across our great country each year. It is steeped in tradition that traces its roots all the way back to 1909, when Governor General Earl Grey donated the first Grey Cup to the Canadian Football League.
“As the Edmonton Eskimos take home the historic cup once more, I think of all the youth who have drawn inspiration from this year’s players, and who dream of one day winning Canadian football’s highest honour.
“Let me once again offer congratulations to both teams and to the CFL on another great season,” concluded PM Trudeau.
